Centennial Parklands – Maintain nature and wildlife


Centennial Parklands is a self-funded public parklands. Corporate Volunteer contributions enhance the environment of the Parklands for the native fauna and visitors and provide valuable assistance in maintaining what is one of the most popularly visited green spaces in Australia.

Activities include a blend of team building, social interaction, and working to improve the environment and amenities.


What activities are available?


  • Environment and culture –  Restoration of an important Aboriginal bush tucker garden
  • Asset Maintenance – Painting the iconic horse fence around Grand Drive
  • Team building – Carp fishing.

What does the day entail?


Qualified and experienced staff will meet, greet and induct your team. We provide all the equipment and training needed for a worthwhile and safe volunteering experience.


What do participants need to bring?


  • Please BYO lunch, or it can be bought at on-site cafe.
  • Volunteers are asked to bring rain and sun protection, long sleeve shirt and trousers, covered shoes with good soles, sunscreen, insect repellent, a wide-brimmed hat and a water bottle.

About the opportunities


Carp Management Corporate Day

Morning Session: Carp Management, volunteers will be provided with all fishing equipment including rods, reels and tackle. A service provider will remain with the group to coach volunteers on angling technique, to net and handle caught carp.

Afternoon Session: Pond Edge cleanup, volunteers will be working independently as a group to rid the pond edges of litter in order to protect native flora, fauna and limit plastics entering the waterways.

The cost is $700 half day and $1200 full day.


Habitat Restoration Corporate Day

Habitat restoration is crucial for aesthetic and environmental reasons. This activity engages participants in hands-on restoration of our unique plant community. The day may
involve one or a number of the following important tasks, depending upon need at the time:
hand weeding, planting, watering, mulching and litter pick up.

Volunteers will be working independently as a group, depending upon task. At the start of the day you’ll be provided with a site induction including WHS briefing.

The cost is $600.


Painting the Iconic Horse Fence Corporate Day

Volunteers tasks will include: Induction, washing down the fence, painting with a roller and finish with a pond edge cleanup.

Volunteers will be working independently as a group to rid the pond edges and the Parklands of litter in order to protect native flora and fauna, and limit plastics entering the waterways.

The cost is $450.


Guriwal Trail Refurbishment Project Corporate Day

Restore and enhance our Aboriginal cultural space, known as the Guriwal Trail, an important cultural, educational and conservation project. Once restored, the Guriwal Trail will be a dedicated space to both recognise and knowledge share with our Indigenous communities.
This activity engages participants in hands-on restoration.

The day may involve one or a number of the following tasks, depending upon need at the time: Removing invasive weeds, watering, mulching and litter pick up.

Volunteers will be working independently as a group, depending upon task. At the start of the day you’ll be provided with an induction including WHS briefing.

The cost is $600.
